Lianyungang Economic & Technological Development Zone (LETDZ) was approved by the State Council as one of the first batch of state-level development zones in December 1984£¬it is located in the eastern new seashore urban area of Liangyungang City.

In accordance with the development structure of ¡°multiple parks in one zone¡±, LETDZ has developed state-level Export-Processing Zone, state-level Industrial Base for New Pharmaceuticals, provincial-level New & Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, and the Near-Port Industrial Zone. Moreover, within the zone, there are several new parks under construction, including the International Hi-Tech Industrial Park aiming to accommodate mainly the investment projects from Japan and South Korea, the Kunshan Industrial Town and other functional parks yielded by the strategy of ¡°promoting the interaction between the south and the north and the co-development of industrial park¡±, and the Near-Port International Comprehensive Logistics Park. With smooth terrain and sufficient construction land conforming to the city master plan and the land-use master plan, LETDZ has prepared a broad development space to accommodate the new round transfer of international and domestic industrial resources. |

Relying on Lianyungang Port and the port groups distributed over its south and north wings which are under planning and construction, attach importance to the development of near-port industries including petrol and chemicals, ship manufacturing, machinery and other leading, base-pattern and flagship-type projects; based on existing industrial condition, give priorities to the development of new pharmaceutical industry featured with chemical synthesis pharmaceuticals, modern traditional Chinese medicine, biological and marine-derived drugs, new medical apparatus and instruments, medical packaging materials, and new material industry featured with silicon materials, electronic packaging materials, and new energy industry featured with wind power generating and solar energy utilizing, keep accelerating export-processing industry and modern service industry, particularly cling to the idea of ¡°logistics driving industries¡± , devote major efforts to develop modern logistics industry, and add bonded function to the Export-Processing Zone; strengthen and upgrade traditional advantageous industries such as food, textile, chemical, machinery, electronics, etc., to forge a model zone in economic and social development in North Jiangsu, and make LETDZ a national first-class development zone. |
¡¾Development Planning¡¿ |
Depending on its geographical position, geological condition and natural environment, LETDZ adopts a development plan of group structure. The large-scale green ecological isolation belt along the surrounding farmland of the Daxu Canal and the railway marshalling station, and the large-scale transportation green belt, naturally divide LETDZ into several relatively independent groups, and give birth to five industrial sub-zones and three ecological axes. |

¡ñThree Ecological Axes
Form green ecological belt from north to south along Linhong River; build the external ecological corridor of LETDZ on the basis of the existing wetland conditions;
reserve a green corridor of approximately 800 meter long that will be the main ecological corridor connecting mountains, sea and other natural elements;
plan and construct green landscape belt along the Paidan River that will become a city ecological landscape corridor passing through LETDZ and linking it with the Xinpu urban area.
